Jaana: The beautiful
Fly Agaric (
Amanita muscaria)
is the most common poisonous mushroom in Finland, and luckily one of the easiest to identify.
Kia: A meaty and edible
Macrolepiota procera, commonly known as the
Parasol Mushroom, growing in a grassy meadow.
I refuse to eat mushrooms, but I think they're lovely to look at! :0)
ReplyDeleteMushrooms are very photogenic, aren’t they? Neither of us eats them, though.
Deletewow... so cool.... I love to eat them ;)
ReplyDeleteGlad you enjoy. :)
DeleteThey are postcard perfect. I love porcini mushrooms, their earthy aroma and their nutty taste. Do you have them in Finland and Scotland?
ReplyDeleteJaana: We do have porcini in Finland. In fact, Wikipedia claims that Italians use to travel to our country for porcini picking trips. :)
DeleteKia: Yes, there are porcini in Scotland. They are commonly called penny buns or ceps.
i was on a mushroom hunt last week also - for photographing only, and had the luck to find so many of them. seems this wet year was perfect for their growing. wonderful shots you made!!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Johanna! We saw your Amanita photos. It's interesting how they resemble tomatoes at their early stage.
