Jaana: The
Eurasian Red Squirrel is a very common sight overhere. The other squirrel species we have in Finland is the endangered Siberian Flying Squirrel.
Kia: The
Eastern Grey Squirrel was introduced to the UK from the USA in the late 19th century to satisfy the Victorian penchant for novelty. They are notorious for displacing the native Red Squirrels in European woodlands.
We have mostly gray squirrels here, and red squirrels too. I love that first picture! :0)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Terry!

ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your friend's squirrel pic with us!
DeleteI very rarely see squirrels here where I live. Don't know why.
ReplyDeleteIt's funny how squirrels can climb like that and so fast.
Squirrels are quite the acrobats!
DeleteFrom Jaana: Really? I thought they were all around in Finland. (Onpas outoa, kun englanniksi pitää jutella. ;)
Kyllä niitä tällä seudulla on, mutta jostain juuri tällä pläntillä, missä asun, niitä ei näy :) Vain tosi harvoin olen nähnyt.
ReplyDeleteJaana: Ahaa! Näillä seuduilla tuntuu, että oravia näkee, missä vain vähänkin puita kasvaa. :)
