49 :: Autumn Bloomers

Jaana: An entire field of Sunflowers got bitten by the first frost before coming to full bloom.

Kia: This variety of stonecrop is called, rather appropriately, Autumn Joy Sedum. Its flowers bloom from August into November.

  1. You'll laugh at me, but my first thought when I saw autumn bloomers in your title was literally bloomers, like underwear! It made me laugh! Love both your pictures! The sunflowers are beautiful even when they've been frosted, and I always enjoy seeing the sedum in bloom. Thanks for sharing! :0)

  2. Here are two of my sunflower pics I'd like to share. I love yellow sunflowers, but I love these different colored ones too. http://www.flickr.com/photos/8800885@N06/8087534840/in/photostream

    1. How beautiful they both are. Neither of us has ever seen colored sunflowers before. Are those beauties in your garden?

  3. I love sunflowers! They are such beautiful and cheerful flowers.
    It still feels like summer here in Italy, and we have plenty of flowers in bloom in the garden at the moment. The snapdragons, roses and croci are particularly lovely this year.
