Fireweed truly live up to their name in the fall with their colors.
Too pretty to be weeds. They even look nice dried up.The summer version is lovely too.

The local birch-wood was thick with them this year. They are so pretty in their autumn costume! There is a saying about this wildflower that "when fireweed goes to cotton, summer is forgotten".
If only we could all go out in such a blaze of glory!
